Re:Seed Initiative Launches to Rebuild the Texas Hill Country Through Local Commerce and Community Empowerment

Kerr County, TX — July 9, 2025 — In the wake of the catastrophic flooding that devastated large parts of the Texas Hill Country, a new grassroots recovery initiative, Re:Seed the Texas Hill Country, is launching to provide an alternative to fleeting donations and deliver long-term economic resilience through local empowerment.

Re:Seed is a joint project between Hill Country-based Modern Agora and San Antonio-founded XP Network, and is hosted on XP Network’s existing business directory. The effort will spotlight, vet, and amplify local businesses and individuals affected by the disaster, offering a concrete way for people across the country to contribute to recovery—not through charity alone, but by investing in the region’s economic flow.

"When I personally lost everything eight years ago, the real struggle began not in the immediate aftermath but in the months and years that followed, when we were trying to rebuild while the rest of the world had moved on," said Jordan Aspen, founder of Modern Agora. "Watching my community face that same kind of future, I knew we needed more than donations. We needed a way to rebuild the financial engine—to empower people with real work, real contracts, and real connections. Cashflow keeps businesses alive and businesses that can keep operating will keep this community alive. That’s what Re:Seed makes possible."

A Hand Up, Not a Handout

While many traditional relief efforts focus on short-term aid, Re:Seed takes a fundamentally different approach. It provides a platform where local businesses can be discovered and supported by people across the country. Importantly, it also paves the way for job creation and contracted work that puts income directly into the pockets of Hill Country residents.

Restaurants and food trucks have burned through their inventory feeding first responders and evacuees—an unquantified but deeply felt loss for businesses that may not have sustained physical damage but still face daunting costs. Re:Seed provides a bridge from that sacrifice to future sustainability by reintegrating these businesses into new economic networks.

How It Works

Supporters who want to stay informed and be part of rebuilding the Texas Hill Country can visit remembersystem.ai/reseed to sign up for updates. This page serves as the central contact point for the Re:Seed initiative, whether you're looking to support local commerce, hire Hill Country talent, or learn when new opportunities go live. As the initiative grows, those on the list will be first to know how and where to take action.

Business owners in the affected areas can also use this form to apply to be listed in the Re:Seed directory. The application process begins with a simple form. From there, the XP Network team reaches out directly to verify that each applicant is a legitimate business located in the Hill Country. Verification is handled quickly by real people—often within two business days.

Built for Long-Term Resilience

"This isn’t a fundraiser, it’s sowing a field,” said Aspen. “If you want to help a community get back on its feet, you don’t just replace what was lost. You plant seeds to grow harvests that feed families for generations. That’s what this is: economic restoration with roots that go deep.”

The initiative also lays the groundwork for programs that will enable remote work and entrepreneurial activity for displaced Hill Country residents. While details of that branch of the Re:Seed initiative will follow, the vision is clear: build a recovery model centered around dignity, productivity, and local ownership in the day-to-day struggle.
